Orange State
Orange State is a weekly one hour political and current events show that I produced and hosted on Z89 Radio in Central New York. My team and I interviewed a number of guests on the show including all three candidates in the 2010 Syracuse mayoral race, former NFL quarterback and activist Don McPherson, political reporters and an aviation expert who has made previous appearances on shows like Good Morning America. The show featured both serious and lighthearted with the stories aimed at a younger audience. The first half of the show included headlines and a discussion of one or two major interviews, usually dealing with a major political story.

The second half of the show was almost entirely lighthearted with a segment called the Orange State of Disarray, which was focused on odd laws and governmental mishaps. After a quick look at some local news or a splash of sports, the show ended with the Audacity of Dopes, which focuses on some of the dumb things people are caught doing like robbing a Burger King and getting stuck in the ventilation system while trying to escape!

My co-host, Giancarlo Rulli, and I traveled to Cornell University where we asked GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul some questions about his proposed policies after a speech he gave in the university’s ice hockey arena. Check out our post-speech wrap!
